University of Washington

U District,

Butter Chicken,

暖暖甜甜又充滿神秘香料味的chai tea是本店必點,有種再胖都要喝的衝動;

前菜類推薦炸豆腐,炸得酥香金黃的豆腐佐上特調醬汁,濃濃花生香很銷魂;

  • Ah, that's my alma mater! Like you said, the UW campus is really beautiful in spring time (not so in winter), but it takes forever to walk from one building to another. I stayed at an apartment, a former hotel built in the 1920's, in the U District for a year while studying for my Master's at UW. I tried Thai Tom once and it wasn't bad. The restaurant is pretty popular among UW students.
  • Hi, thank you for visiting my blog. Seattle is one of my favorite cities in US. I had my master degree in UW as well, really miss the beautiful life there. You'd stayed in the hotel for two years? It sounds cool! I love Thai Tom and think this is the best Thai restaurant I tried in US. :)

  • What a small world! You got your Master's at UW too! Actually the hotel had been turned into an apartment compound (Wilsonian Apartments) many years ago. I only stayed in Seattle for one year as I finished my two-year graduate program in one year (not recommended for fainthearted people). What program were you in at UW?
  • Ha, it is a small world! I google the Wilsonian Apartments and found I went to the Tully's downstairs often.:) You finished your master program in one year? You must be a brilliant student! I'd lived in Seattle for one and a half years for my MCDM (Master of Communication in Digital Media) program.

  • Not brilliant, just determined. You see, I left my husband and daughter behind and lived in Seattle by myself, so I really wanted to go back to them as soon as possible. After I figured out that it was theoretically possible to finish my China Studies program (at the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies) in one year, I studied like a demon. It was very tough as I had to read at least three boring books regarding modern China (in topics such as foreign/domestic policy, international relations, political structure, economy and social issues), wrote provocation essays and prepared for class debates/discussions while writing my two graduation papers. My classmates had fun socializing in spare time but I was studying 24/7. Not fun at all!
